"Mother Teresa" (2014) – mural (acrylic paint)
This is my painting of Mother Teresa of Calcutta (21 in. x 35 in.) on the Change The World mural at Gray Avenue Middle School in Yuba City, California.
Mother Teresa was a missionary nun who dedicated her life to helping the sick and gave "wholehearted free service to the poorest of the poor." She helped run hospices and homes for people with HIV/AIDS, leprosy, and tuberculosis; soup kitchens; dispensaries and mobile clinics; children's and family counseling programs; orphanages; and schools.
For her efforts, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, is considered one of the most admired people of the 20th century, and is officially recognized as a saint by the Catholic Church.
