"Dolores Huerta" (2014) - mural (acrylic paint)
This is my painting of Dolores Huerta (32" x 52") on the Change The World mural at Gray Avenue Middle School in Yuba City, California.
Dolores Huerta is a labor leader and civil rights activist who (along with César Chávez) co-founded the National Farmworkers Association, which later became the United Farm Workers (UFW). Huerta has received numerous awards for her community service and advocacy for workers', immigrants', and womens' rights, including the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom. She is considered to be one of the biggest female role models in the Latino community.
